John Tebbel, who is one-sixteenth Indian, the descendant of an historic Michigan family, worked for major newspapers and magazines until he became chairman of the Journalism Department at New York University, where he divided his time between teaching and writing. Keith Jennison was a Canadian, born in Winnipeg, who spent most of his life in Vermont and New York City, where he was a legendary figure in book publishing, as well as an author of books, mostly about Vermont. Starting as a book salesman for Harcourt, Brace in 1935, he held major positions in several New York houses, and at one time headed his own. With John Tebbel, he helped found the Graduate Institute of Book Publishing at NYU, the first of its kind in the country. Read more
